Oklahoma woman booked for first-degree murder

An Oklahoma woman is being held in the Webster County Jail for first-degree murder following the discovery of a newborn's body in a room at the Super 8 in Fort Dodge Tuesday.

Hillary Tyler, 31, Mulhall, Okla., is scheduled to appear Wednesday in Webster County Magistrate Court.

Officers from the Fort Dodge Police Department responded to a call at3755 Fifth Ave. S. shortly after 11:35 a.m. Tuesday. The caller reported finding the body of a dead newborn infant in Room 225.

The investigation determined that the death was not of natural causes.

The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, Webster County Sheriff's office, the Webster County Attorney's office and the Webster County Medical Examiner joined the investigation.
