‘Nuncrackers’ auditions set

EMMETSBURG - Emmetsburg Mainstreet Community Theatre will be holding auditions for the musical, "Nuncrackers," at 7 p.m. today and Monday at the Performance Center located at 19th and Lake in Emmetsburg.

There are five principal singing and speaking roles for females and a female chorus. There is one male singing and speaking role, and 12 singing and speaking roles for students ranging in grades two through eight.

"Nuncrackers" is a Christmas show. There will be Christmas carols, a living Nativity and a performance of the "Nutcracker Ballet." It is another "Nunsense" production and the continuing roles of the Rev. Mother and Sisters Hubert, Robertann, Leo and Paul lead the nuns of the Little Sisters of Hoboken in their first television Christmas special. Father Trott, a member of the Franciscans and the real-life brother of Sister Leo, is the emcee of the show. Students of Mt. St. Helen's School are part of the Christmas special performers.

"Nuncrackers" rehearsals will begin Oct. 1 with production dates the last weekend in November and the first weekend in December.
