SAC CITY - A woman accused of first-degree murder will be facing trial next month, nearly 10 years after the alleged crime.
On Tuesday, Second Judicial District Chief Judge Kurt Wilke set a trial date of Sept. 28 for Tracey Richter-Roberts, 45, of Omaha, Neb.
Richter-Roberts pleaded not guilty and demanded a speedy trial Aug. 19 in a written arraignment. She is accused of shooting Dustin Wehde, 20, to death in her former home in Early in 2001.
She was not charged at the time of the incident.
The case was reopened by law enforcement in 2009, and Richter-Roberts was arrested in late July after charges were filed.
