CLARE - The Clare Public Library will hold a pre-harvest party from 5 to 10 p.m. Saturday at the Clare Community Center.

This will be a community potluck fundraiser. There will be a $5 admission fee to cover a pulled pork sandwich, sweet corn (if possible, otherwise baked beans), drink and entertainment.

People attending are asked to bring a covered dish to pass.

The Clare Volunteer Fire Department will run a beer garden from 5 to 10 p.m., the meal will be from 6 to 7 p.m. and karaoke will follow the meal.

With rising costs, the library will need help making it through this year. Thrivent will provide supplemental funds.

Also, the Clare Public Library will host the Haunted Iowa Paranormal Investigation group, of Fort Dodge, for a presentation at 1 p.m. today.

The group will do a video and PowerPoint presentation with video and audio evidence of the paranormal.

They have specialized equipment that no other group in Iowa has.

Information is available from librarian Kathy Allen at 546-6173.
