At a Board of Education meeting May 23, the Fort Dodge Community School District honored its retiring or resigning staff members who have given at least 10 years of service to the district. The 15 educators have provided a combined 305 years of service to the district and have "challenged the minds of thousands of students," according to a district press release.
Each member was presented with a plaque and thanked for their dedication, loyalty and support to the schools and children of Fort Dodge.
Leaving Butler Elementary is teacher Melissa Watson, 13 years.
Leaving Duncombe Elementary is teacher Mandy Maulsby, 10 years.
Leaving Cooper Elementary are paraeducator Becky Opheim, 21 years, and teacher Rhonda Simmons, 10 years.
Leaving Fair Oaks Middle School are paraeducator Rita Craigmile, 16 years, administrator G.J. Matsen, 35 years, teacher Marilyn Olivari, 14 years, and paraeducator Marcia Volkmer, 11 years.
Leaving Phillips Middle School are teacher Katherine Campbell, 29 years, and teacher Gretchen Enke, 10 years.
Leaving Fort Dodge Senior High are teacher Teresa Casady, 33 years, and paraeducator Bruce McCullough, 12 years.
Leaving the district administration building are secretary Deb Peterson, 31 years, and administrator Pam Rodewald, 33 years.
And Karla Krog, talented and gifted program teacher, who taught at all district elementary schools, 27 years.
