MDA Lock-Up raises $19,900

Fort Dodge area residents participated in the MDA Lock-Up event to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association on April 28. The fundraising took place at the AmericInn Hotel in Fort Dodge. More than $19,900 was raised for Jerry’s Kids.
The top bail raisers for the day were Dennis Baugh of Youth Shelter Care of North Central Iowa, Mayor Matt Bemrich, Mark Jorgensen of Carpet World, Lucinda Kunert of Trimark Neurology, Cheryl O’Hern of Frontier Communications, Robert “Barney” Patterson of Midstate Plumbing and Heating, Lynn Peterson of Advanced Systems, Kenny Sibbitt of Vending Americas, Tom Smith of Murphy Tractor and Equipment Co., and Greg Wells of Three Eagles Communications.
The funds raised will help MDA provide patient care services to individuals who have been diagnosed with one of the 43 neuromuscular diseases under MDA’s program of services including funding local groundbreaking research at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, payment of repairs on wheelchairs, sending youngsters ages 6-17 to summer camp at Camp Courageous in Monticello, providing support groups and much more.
