Bid and Buy auction begins today

May 15, 2011
Messenger News

Bid and Buy, a new online auction jointly sponsored by The Messenger and the Daily Freeman-Journal and which will last for 10 days, begins today.

Bid and Buy will feature merchandise and services from local and regional businesses. Registration for bidders is now open and, once registered, they can view the many items on the auction, both online and in person at local stores.

"Bid and Buy gives our readers an opportunity to purchase fabulous products and services for up to half of what you would pay somewhere else," said David Jakeman, advertising director for The Messenger. "This auction works very similar to other online auctions, but the great thing about Bid and Buy is that, in most cases, you can stop at your local retailer, and actually touch and feel these items before you bid on it."

To register, go to The Messenger or Daily Freeman-Journal website, www.messengernews.net or www.freemanjournal.net, and look for the link to "Bid and Buy." You can also go directly to www.bidandbuynow.net.

Look for the "Register" in the top left corner and fill out the information.

Once registered, you can browse Bid and Buy for hundreds of great items. Since most of the items for auction are from local merchants, you can head to the store and check items out in person or research them online.

"From ATV's to getaways, groceries to furniture, you can find most everything at Bid and Buy," Jakeman said.

Bidding will run today through May 24. Bidders can stay up-to-date on bids and receive an email letting them know when they were outbid. Bidders will also receive an email to announce if they were the winning bidder.

Once the item is paid for, the winning bidder will receive a voucher that can be taken directly to the store.
