YORKVILLE, Ill. - Mildred E. Spencer, age 94, of Yorkville, IL formerly of Boulder Hill/Oswego, IL died Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at Hillside Nursing Home in Yorkville, IL. She was born August 27, 1916 in Knoke, IA the daughter of the late Carl and Anna nee Paap Hout.

Prior to her retirement in 1974 she was employed as a silk screen printer at Western-Electric Co in Montgomery, IL for 15 years.

She formerly attended the Boulder Hill Neighborhood Church of the Brethern, charter member of the Quilters Dozen of Oswego, IL and while residing in Cherokee Village, AR the Cherokee Village United Church, Thunderbird Quilters Guild, CV Indians Lions Club Auxiliary and a charter member of the Kennel Club of Yorkville, IL. She was the owner of Deart Kennel of Oswego, IL.

Mildred is survived by her husband Lloyd C Spencer, two daughters Vera (William) Murphy of Rock Rapids, IA, Dauna (Edward) Boon of Yorkville, IL, two sons Colin (Katherine) Spencer of Oswego, IL, Bobbie Gene (Suzanne) Spencer of Yorkville, IL, daughter-in-law Mary Spencer of Oswego, IL, three granddaughters Lori (Mark) Graffing of Worthington, MN, Mary (Terry) Jones of Irving, TX, Heather (Timothy) Urban of Austin, TX, eleven grandsons John Murphy Minneapolis, MN, Patrick Murphy of Sioux City, IA, Michael Murphy of Sioux City, IA, Joel Murphy of Omaha, NE, Eric (Stacey) Boon of Oswego, IL, Christopher "CJ" Boon of Oswego, IL, Robert (Michelle) Spencer of Samas, WA, Lloyd Spencer III of Oswego, IL, Colin Todd Spencer of Oswego, IL, Jonathan Spencer of Oswego, IL, 12 great-grandchildren, four great great grandchildren two step grandchildren, two sisters Gladys Patterson of Pomeroy, IA, Darlene Nyern of Gowrie, IA, two sister in laws Marguerite Wile of Fort Dodge, IA, Dorothy Hout of Sac City, IA and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son Lloyd Spencer, Jr., grandson Edward Boon, siblings and an infant brother, Doris Fawkes, Adela Hateburg, Donald Hout and Percy Hout.

A Celebration of Life will be held later at the desire of the family. Cremation was accorded the wish of the family to be followed by burial at Lincoln Memorial Park.

Memorials may be directed to Trinity United Methodist Church of Yorkville, IL or the American Heart Association.
