The 22nd annual prayer breakfast honoring the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day will be held on Jan. 15. Doors open at 9:30 a.m. with the program beginning at 10 a.m. in the Christian Life Center of the First Presbyterian Church of Fort Dodge, 1111 Fifth Ave. N.
Breakfast will be catered by Julie's Parties to Go. Music will be provided by young people from Athletics for Education and Success, the youth and men's choir of Second Baptist Church and Veronica Mosley.
Mayor Matt Bemrich will deliver the Mayoral Proclamation which recognizes the importance of this day of remembrance and Community Service Awards will be presented to outstanding citizens and organizations for their contributions toward making Fort Dodge a better place to live.
The public is invited to be a part of this celebration of Dr. King's Dream for all people. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children 12 and younger or a table of eight for $80, and available at the Fort Dodge Chamber of Commerce, 1406 Central Ave., Ann Waynar at 955-8753, any MLK Committee member, or at the door.
