Funeral services for Raymond Vincent Jordison will be 11 a.m. Saturday, September 18, 2010 at Friendship Haven with burial in the North Lawn Cemetery. Slade - O'Donnell Funeral Home in Leon, Iowa is in charge of arrangements.

Raymond, the son of William C. and Flossie (Enfield) Jordison, was born July 12, 1921 at Fort Dodge, Iowa. He died at the Lamoni Nursing and Rehab. Center in Lamoni, Iowa on Saturday, September 11, 2010.

Ray graduated from high school in 1939. He worked at the National Gypsum Company in Fort Dodge until he joined the United States Army on October 31, 1942 serving during World War II. After his honorable discharge on January 11, 1946, Ray went back to work at the gypsum mill until his retirement. He served on the board of the credit union for many years.

On November 21, 1943 he was united in marriage to Edith Betty Jensen. After his tour of duty they resided in rural Fort Dodge. They were blessed with two children, Diane on August 27, 1944 and Greg on April 26, 1952. He was a member of the Reorganized Latter Day Saints Church, now known as the Community of Christ. He was an elder and served as pastor of the Coalville, Iowa congregation for three years. Ray had his pilot's license and enjoyed airplanes, flying, and motorcycles. He and Betty enjoyed camping and traveling with their children and continued to travel after retirement. Ray liked to feed and watch birds and squirrels. In 2008 they moved into Friendship Haven in Fort Dodge and then Lamoni Nursing and Rehab in April 2010.

Preceding him in death were his parents; wife Betty on August 20, 2010; all of his siblings, Bev Loy, Elbert, Lowell, Russ, and Herbert in childhood; and daughter Diane Hollingsworth in March 2010.

Survivors include his son Greg Jordison and wife Tara McFarland of Lamoni; son-in-law Willis Hollingsworth of Windsor Heights, Iowa; grandson Aaron Leeper and wife Chandra and great-granddaughter Madison, all of Aurora, Colorado; sister-in-law Marie Jordison of Fort Dodge; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and many friends.
