By AMBER WILLIAMS/Messenger staff writer

Fort Dodge police have brought a subject into custody after a high speed chase this morning.

Officer Matt Wilson confirmed the chase began during a police investigation within Fort Dodge city limits. An officer was nearly struck by the vehicle as it sped away, and the chase ensued. Dispatch reported speeds reached up to 90 mph and stretched beyond city limits into rural Webster and Calhoun Counties.

Webster County Sheriff deputies and Iowa State Patrol assisted in wrangling the subject.
