MANSON - Loretta Sorensen, 85, died on Fri. June 11, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held on Tues. June 15 at 10:30 a.m. at Augustana Lutheran Church in Manson with Rev. Janelle Siffring officiating. Visitation will be on Mon. from 4 until 7 p.m. at Larson-Weishaar Funeral Home in Manson. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Manson.
Survivors include her husband Arnie; children Sandra (Larry) Melco of Palmer, IA; Michael (Juli) Rinehart of Newton, IA; Patricia (Jack Peters) Spiess of Palmer, IA; Kirby (Patrick) Ryan of Lenexa, KS; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Clifford; brothers Harold, Wayne, and Delmar Hall; and sister Beulah Eigsti.
Loretta Ferne Hall was born near Lytton, IA on June 30, 1924, the daughter of F. C. and Anna (Mehring) Hall. She graduated from Manson High School in 1941, and married Clifford Rinehart on June 9, 1946, at Elk Point, SD. Clifford preceded her in death in 1971. On April 7, 1972, she was united in marriage with Arnold Sorensen. Loretta was secretary for the Manson Chamber of Commerce for several years, and later worked at Manson Good Samaritan Center as a dietician. She was also a past member of the Bowling Congress. She was also a member of the Manson Ladies Auxiliary.
