Mark Anthony Wilson was sentenced to life in prison without parole Friday morning in Webster County District Court.
Wilson was convicted in March of killing Joni Manning at her rural Webster County home in 2001.
A jury convicted him of first-degree murder and second-degree theft.
Wilson had been on the run since shortly after the murder. He turned himself in to California Highway Patrol officers on Aug. 11, 2009. Wilson was extradited to Iowa where he stood trial in Manning's death.
