Memorial services for Robert Alfred "Bob" Breiholz, age 78, of Albert Lea will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 8, 2010 at First Presbyterian Church in Albert Lea. Rev. Dwight Netzer and Rev. Jeff Laeger-Hagemeister will officiate. Following lunch, interment will be at Graceland Cemetery with Military Honors accorded by Freeborn County area veteran's organizations. Robert died Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at St. John's Lutheran Home in Albert Lea.

Robert Alfred "Bob" Breiholz was born on April 19, 1931 to Alfred and Coral (Rittgers) Breiholz in West Bend, IA. He grew up in West Bend and graduated from West Bend High School. Bob then enlisted in the United States Navy and served during the Korean Conflict. After his discharge, Bob attended Iowa State where he received his Bachelor's degree in Ag-Business. On June 1, 1958 he was united in marriage to Doris Maresh in Ames, IA. The couple spent several years moving around for Bob's work with Del Monte. In 1968 they settled in Sleepy Eye where Bob worked as Field Superintendent for Del Monte. Bob retired in 1988. In 2001 he and Doris moved to Albert Lea. Bob was an active member of Faith United Methodist Church in Sleepy Eye. Through the years, Bob was very involved in his communities, serving on the Sleepy Eye school board, the Public Utilities Commission in Sleepy Eye and the Food Shelf. He was also an active member of the Lions Club in Sleepy Eye and continued his membership when moving to Albert Lea. Since his move, Bob volunteered for Meals on Wheels and Senior Ride Share in Albert Lea. Bob enjoyed walking, traveling, cars, collecting antiques, reading westerns, watching sports, and especially spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his children, Scott (Peggy) Breiholz of Forest, VA, Todd (Sheryl) Breiholz of Woodbury, MN, and Jody (Brad) Kirchner of Albert Lea; grandchildren, Chelsea and Jacob Breiholz, Rachel and Bethany Breiholz, and Landon and Kaedyn Kirchner; sister, Delores Stroup; sisters-in-law, Marlene (Pat) McGregor and June Maresh; brother-in-law, Robert (Judy) Maresh; many nieces and nephews; and good friends, Margie, DuWayne and Robert Kirchner.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Coral Breiholz; wife, Doris; and brothers-in-law, Harold Maresh, Milford Maresh, and Robert Stroup.

Memorials are preferred to St. John's Lutheran Home Foundation.
