Fred White Jr., 62, of Fort Dodge, died Monday, February 1, 2010 at his home.
A visitation to celebrate Fred's life will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home. Private graveside services will be held at a later date.
Surviving is his wife, Sue of Fort Dodge; daughters, Kari Hubbard and her husband Mark of Fort Dodge, Tina Wardell and her husband Walter of Callender; mother, Ruth White of Coalville; grandchildren, LeAnn Armstrong, Nick Armstrong, Chris Ray, Cody Ray, Jerry Poldervaart, and Nolan Connor Hubbard; sister, Bonnie Kaufman of Coalville. He was preceded in death by his father, Fred White Sr.
Fred E. White Jr. was born May 11, 1947 in Fort Dodge. He attended schools here and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School. He then attended the University of Iowa and obtained his Bachelors Degree in History. Following his education he was employed at Georgia Pacific for several years. He then owned and operated R & W Seamless Gutter. He had currently been employed at Stone Creek Landscapes and Nursery in Fort Dodge. Fred was known as the "tree guy" because of this expertise and knowledge. On September 6, 1980 he was united in marriage to Sue Smith and they made their home near Fort Dodge.
Fred was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan. He enjoyed gardening, being outdoors and spending time with his family and friends. He was especially fond of his grandchildren and his "great grand dogs"
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
