WILLIAM BETHEL

POSTED: December 31, 2009

William Charles (Chuck) Bethel, 59, of rural Otho, died Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009 at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge, with his family at his side.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010, at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Dennis Shepherd officiating. Burial will be in the West Lawn Cemetery in Lehigh, Iowa. Visitation will be from 12 until 2 p.m. Saturday at the Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Fort Dodge.

He is survived by his wife, Julie Fevold Bethel; son, Daniel Charles Bethel and his wife Misty of Lehigh; granddaughters, Allison and Danille Bethel; sister, Georgia (Donald) Herrington of Burnside and a brother, Donald (Colette) Bethel of Gowrie, and several nieces and nephews.

William Charles Bethel, the son of William and Maxine (McWilliams) Bethel, was born on July 27, 1950 at Bethesda Hospital in Fort Dodge. He attended school and graduated from Central Webster High School in 1969, and from Iowa Central College in Farm Mechanics, and was employed with Beer Implement in Harcourt, Iowa. Chuck later worked at the J. C. Penney's Automotive. He was united in marriage to Julie Ann Fevold on Nov. 6, 1976, at the First United Methodist Church in Fort Dodge. Chuck and Julie farmed in the Lehigh and Otho areas.

He was a member of the Lehigh United Methodist Church, a member of the Iowa National Guard, and Farm Bureau. With Chuck's many health issues he still loved to farm with his son Dan, and enjoyed fishing and camping. We will all miss him and we will miss his good humor and wit.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
