John T. Pallos, 62, of Fort Dodge, passed away Thursday, December 24, 2009, at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home after a battle with cancer.

In accordance to John's wishes, there will be a visitation on Monday, December 28, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Family interment services will be held at a later date at North Lawn Cemetery. Military honors will be presented by V.F.W. Post No. 1856. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.

John was born to Theodore and Dorothy Pallos on November 27, 1947, in Fort Dodge. He graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1966. John served in the U.S. Air Force at March AFB in Sunnymead, CA from 1973 to 1975. John was united in marriage to Judy Morgan on November 30, 1973. He was employed with Decker Truck Lines since January 15, 1980. John recently received his award for three million safety miles.

John enjoyed riding his Harley, camping, watching Nascar races, and spending time with family and friends.

John is survived by his daughter, Joni Pallos (Ryan Davis), of Ames; son James (Alanna) Pallos, of Fort Dodge; and granddaughter Alexa Pallos, of Ames. He is also survived by fianc, Karen Jackson, of Fort Dodge. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Judy, son Scotty, two brothers, Chris and George and sister Christina.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
