LOREN W. HAHLE

ALGONA - Loren Wallace Hahle was born October 29, 1937, at Algona, Iowa, to George and Rose (Steil) Hahle. Loren graduated from St. Cecelia Academy in Algona and on September 21, 1959 was married to Sharon Fox in Livermore, Iowa.

Loren and Sharon owned a dry cleaning business in Algona but Loren spent most of his working years at Snap-On Tools.

Loren was an avid Iowa Hawkeye Fan and enjoyed attending home games whenever possible. He enjoyed watching all football on television, enjoyed doing yard work and gardening but his greatest love was spending time with his family and grandchildren. His new great grandson was the sparkle in his eye.

Loren was a member of St. Cecelia Catholic Church in Algona.

He died on Friday morning, December 4, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa in Mason City, Iowa, at the age of 72.

Survivors include his wife Sharon of Algona; his children, Vienna Hahle of Emmetsburg, Iowa, Cathy Vitzthum of Hastings, Minnesota, Angela Hahle of Emmetsburg, Iowa, Loren W. Hahle, Jr. and wife Michele of Mason City, Iowa, and Tera Hahle of Apple Valley, Minnesota as well as six grandchildren, Jennifer Vitzthum, Gabrielle Vitzthum, Jacob Vitzthum, Coltin Hahle, Catalyn Hahle, Shea Hahle and one great grandson Aiden. Loren was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held from 5 8 PM Sunday at Garry-Roberts-Murphy-Schaaf Funeral Home in Algona with a rosary at 5:30 PM and a Parish Prayer service at 7:00 PM both on Sunday at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. on Monday at St. Cecelia Catholic Church, Algona.
