Manley Wright, 81, of Fort Dodge passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at the Villa Care Center. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, November 30, 2009 at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel with Msr. Kevin McCoy officiating. Entombment will follow at the Chapel of Peace Mausoleum at North Lawn Cemetery. The visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. with a vigil service at 6:00 P.M. on Sunday at Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
Manley was born in Fort Dodge on April 10, 1928 to Manley Sr. and Margaret (Weber) Wright. He was a 1947 graduate of Fort Dodge Senior High School and married Beverly Raymond on November 25, 1948. He worked with his father at National Gypsum and then began Rite Way Janitorial Services which he owned and operated for 35 years. He also owned and operated with his family Mama Mia's Spaghetti Sauce. He was a very kind, quiet, hard working man who loved his family. He enjoyed spending time at their cabin on Spirit Lake and taking friends fishing. He also enjoyed cooking and spending time at his pool.
Manley is survived by his wife Beverly; children Debra (Lester) Lacina of Fort Dodge, Michael (Kim) Wright of Dallas, TX, Lesslie (Doug) Fors of Fort Dodge, and Tony Wright of Panama City Beach, FL; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister Bonnie (Manford) Cunningham and brother Jerry (Gail) Wright. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Lillian and brother Morrie.
