JOYCE ANN BROBST

Joyce Ann Brobst, 68, of Fort Dodge, passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 24, 2009, at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge.

Joyce is survived by Larry, her husband of 49 years, and her children, Curtis (Dawn) Brobst, Elgin, MN; Teresa (Ron Apodaca) Brobst, Topeka, KS; her three grandchildren, Alex, Caitlynne and Carrianne Brobst, Elgin, MN; her step-granddaughter Maggie (Brian) Smith, Topeka, KS; her brothers, Paul (Elaine) Lundberg, Panora; and Ronald Lundberg, Gowrie; her sister Lucille Bower, North Hollywood, CA; her aunts Fern (Wilmer) Bengtson, Riverside, CA; Florence Lundberg, Pilot Mound, IA; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Byron and Ethel (Beckstrom) Lundberg, a sister Marie Lundberg and a brother Charles Lundberg.

Joyce was born December 21, 1940, in Pilot Mound on the family farm. In 1947, the family moved to a farm near Harcourt, IA and Joyce attended and graduated from Harcourt Consolidated School. Joyce attended Buena Vista College. In 1960, Joyce was united in marriage to Larry Brobst in Scranton, Iowa. After Larry graduated from Buena Vista, they moved to Fort Dodge.

Joyce enjoyed her grandchildren and her cats and dogs. She volunteered for the Humane Society where she served on the board of directors.

Graveside services will be held at a later date at the Scranton Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the discretion of the family.
