MANSON - Sue Skilling, 55, died at her home in Manson on Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009, following a battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held on Mon. Nov. 16 at 10:30 a.m. at Augustana Lutheran Church in Manson with Pastor William Howie officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 until 7 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 15 at Larson-Weishaar Funeral Home in Manson. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Manson.

Survivors include her husband Randy; sons Chad (Beth) Goings of Washing, IA; Andy "Bub" (Angie) Goings of Stratford, IA: daughter Jaime (Kevin) Morgan of Clive, IA: three grandchildren and one on the way; brothers Willis (Tonya) Wendt of Pahrump, NV; Rick (Clara) Wendt of Manson, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Eleanor Wendt, Eleanor having died on Oct. 18, 2009.

Sue Ellen Wendt was born on February 11, 1954, at Ft. Dodge, IA, the daughter of Robert and Eleanor (Barnett) Wendt. She graduated from Manson High School in 1972. She was united in marriage with Joseph Goings on June 1, 1971, at Trinity Lutheran Church near Knierim, IA. Sue held jobs at the Manson Good Samaritan Center, the Manson Journal, and AgAmerica before beginning a career of 15 years in the office of Calhoun County Clerk of Courts, retiring as Clerk of Courts. She was united in marriage with Randy Skilling on Aug. 17, 1991, at the United Church of Christ - Congregational in Manson.

Sue was a VFW Auxiliary member, master gardener, enjoyed bird watching, sewing and quilting. The main priority in Sue's life has always been her three children and her grandchildren.
