CLARE - Edward F. Coleman, 83, of Clare, died Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009 at Trinity Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 9:45 a.m. in the Chapel of Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m. at St. Matthew's Church in Clare with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery, Clare. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, where there will be a Rosary at 4:30 p.m. and a vigil at 7 p.m.

Ed is survived by his wife Norrine; son, Larry of Clare; daughters, Nancy Coleman of Clare, Stacy Johnson and her husband Ken of Rockwell City and their son Colin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerrie and Nora (Lynch) Coleman; brothers, Jerry and Maurice; sisters, Florence Harrold and Maedene Coleman; and a grandson Michael Johnson.

Edward Francis Coleman was born Aug. 29, 1926 in Clare, Iowa. He attended school in Clare, graduating from St. Matthew's High School in 1945. Shortly after high school, Ed began farming in the Clare area. On Feb. 1, 1964 he was united in marriage to Norrine Kollasch at St. Cecelia Catholic Church in Algona. Together they made their home on the farm near Clare. Ed was a member of St. Matthew's Church, Clare, the Altar Society, and served on the Webster County Extension Council.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
