SULPHUR SPRINGS, Texas - A memorial mass for Edward Joseph Ehrhardt, age 87, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 6, 2009 at St. James Catholic Church with Father Sasai Avula officiating. There will be no formal visitation.

Mr. Ehrhardt passed away Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009 in Sulphur Springs.

Mr. Ehrhardt was born on Feb. 16, 1922 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Raymond and Julia (Goodridge) Ehrhardt. He married Norma Himrod on April 27, 1946 in Humboldt, Iowa. She survives. Through his life he worked as purchasing agent for P & M Stone Co. and sold cars in Humboldt, Iowa then moved to Sulphur Springs in 1977. He joined the 21st infantry regiment on Dec. 26, 1942. He was in active duty in New Guinea and the Philippines. He was discharged from the United States Army with Honors on Jan. 8, 1946. Mr. Ehrhardt was a member of St. James Catholic Church.

Other survivors include son, Jerry Ehrhardt and wife Shelly of Leesburg, Fla.; daughters, Jean Vought and husband Jim of Rutland, Iowa, Judy Turbiville and husband Tom, and Janice Limerick, all of College Station, Texas; sisters, Jane Pergande and Donna Entler, both of Humboldt, Iowa; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Jill Lens on May 18, 1994, two brothers, Duane Ehrhardt and Art Ehrhardt.
