Harold Peters of Federal Way, Wash. passed away peacefully on Oct. 14, 2009.
Harold was born Jan. 15, 1927 in Fort Dodge to Egbert and Sena Peters. He graduated from Manson High School and then attended Fort Dodge Junior College. Harold served in the Navy in the South Pacific during World War II. After his military service, he went to Washington State where he got a job with the Boeing Company. He worked at Boeing for over 25 years until he retired in 1989. After retiring, he toured with friends all over the world, including Russia and China. Harold loved to hunt, ski and climb mountains. He especially loved mountain climbing at Mt. Rainier and Mt. Baker. He was very active in and loved his church. He served as an usher and maintained the church grounds for years.
Harold is survived by his brother Wayne Peters of Manson, and sisters Floreen Johnson of St. Joseph, Mo., Lois (Jerry) Blair of Dayton, and Velma (Karl) Davis of Pocahontas and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Harold was preceded in death by his sister Maxine Hampton (husband, Marvin), his brother-in-law Glen Johnson, and his parents.
Memorial services will be held at St. Johns Lutheran Church, Lizard Township, Palmer, on Nov. 7 at 2 p.m. Burial will be at Lizard Cemetery.
