Leonard Hansch, 92, of Fort Dodge, died Saturday, October 31, 2009 at Tompkins Memorial Health Center.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 4th at St Paul Lutheran Church with Rev. Allen Henderson officiating. Burial will be in Colfax Township Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home.

Leonard is survived by his daughter, Leanna Hansch of Des Moines; sons, Gerald and wife Marnie of Fort Dodge, Randall and wife Debra of Monroe; grandchildren, Erika Kasperbauer and husband Mike of Fort Dodge, Troy Hansch and wife Jennifer of Fort Dodge, Jill Witt and husband Brad of Monroe, Adam Hansch of Newton; 4 great-grandchildren; 2 step great-grandchildren; sister, Lydia Dencklau of Eagle Grove; brother, Laurence Hansch of Fort Dodge. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Lena (Dencklau) Hansch, his wife, Roseann; and a sister, Lillian Telschaw.

Leonard Hansch was born October 10, 1917 on the family farm near Vincent. On April 6, 1941 he was united in marriage to Roseann Bradley and they established their home on a farm near Duncombe. Together with his wife Roseann, and later with his son, Gerald, they farmed for 67 years in Colfax Township.

Leonard was a Colfax Township Trustee for 15 years, served on the Colfax Township School Board, the Vincent Fire Department Board, the Duncombe Elevator Board for 9 years, the New Co-op Board for 1 year, ASCS for 18 years, and 22 years as a Webster County Supervisor.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
