One dead in house fire

One person is dead after a fire at 2714 N. 13th Place Monday night, officials reported.
The address is the residence of David and Hannelore Christopherson.
According to Webster County Medical Examiner Dr. Dan Cole, there was one deceased victim within the house after the fire. He could not confirm the cause of death at the time.
He said the victim was probably a woman but he would not say for sure.
Neighbor Mary Worrick, 2704 N. 13th Place, said that she heard sirens shortly before 9 p.m. She said that after coming outside to investigate, she saw smoke billowing from the front and back of the house.
According to Worrick, David Christopherson was being taken to an ambulance around 10:20 p.m.
"But I think she's still in there," said Worrick, referring to Hannelore Christopherson.
Assistant Fire Chief Kerry Miklo said they could not confirm the cause of the fire and that there will be an investigation into the death on North 13th Place.
Miklo, the first firefighter on the scene, attempted to get in the one-story house by himself to search for trapped people, but thick smoke forced him back outside.
Late Monday night, firefighters were waiting for the arrival of an investigator from the state Fire Marshal's Office.
Fort Dodge firefighters and police responded along with Trinity Regional Medical Center paramedics.

David and Hannelore are my parents. I would like to thank everyone for their condolences. We truly appreciate it. My father is doing ok inspite of the tragic event he endured. for those sending cards/gifts, please send them to the Comfort Inn of Ft.
