Otho firefighters prepare to leave at field near 2687 Dolliver Park Ave. Wednesday evening after putting out a fire in a bale of corn stalks. According to Otho Fire Chief Marty Smith, a malfunction in the baler ignited the corn stalks inside. The machinery, belonging to Stumpf Farms, sustained damage to the belts. Firefighters contained the small fire before it reached a nearby field still containing stalks on the ground. There were no injuries.
