INDEPENDENCE - Laura J. Davis, 87, of Independence, Iowa and formerly of the Gilmore City and Dakota City, Iowa area died Thursday morning, September 17, 2009 at the Buchanan County Health Center in Independence following a long illness.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Saturday, September 19, 2009, at the Faith United Methodist Church, Gilmore City, Iowa with Rev. Jan Burnett officiating. Burial will be in the Indian Mounds Cemetery, Humboldt, IA. Friends may call from 12 Noon till services Saturday at the church. The Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory, Independence, IA is in charge of arrangements.
