GEORGE CLUTTER
LAKE CITY - George Edwin "Ed" Clutter, 94, died Monday, September 14, 2009 at Stewart Memorial Hospital in Lake City. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Lake City with Pastor Erland Asmus officiating and burial in the Reading Cemetery in Farnhamville. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Lampe Funeral Home in Lake City.
Ed Clutter was born August 30, 1915 at Farnhamville, Iowa to Archie and Kathryn (Fluke) Clutter. He graduated from Lohrville High School in 1933. He served during WWII with the European Theater in the U.S. Air Corps for 4 years. On September 11, 1955 he was married to Marjorie Wunschel at Immanuel Lutheran Church at Early, Iowa. He farmed until retiring in 1989. He was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Lake City.
Ed is survived by his sons, Archie (Abby) Clutter of St. Louis, MO and Daniel Clutter of Denison; and 2 grandsons, Thomas and Daniel. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marjorie; brothers, Philip and Charles Clutter; and sisters, Alice Jaerchke and Ruth Morgan.
