GILMORE CITY - Mary Ellen Collins, 95, of Gilmore City died Friday September 4, 2009 at the Marian Home in Fort Dodge. Services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 8, 10:30 a.m. at St. John's Catholic Church, Gilmore City with burial to follow in St. John's Cemetery. Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Harris Funeral Home in Gilmore City where a parish vigil will be held at 7 p.m.

Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her parents John and Ida (Brown) Cain, husband Eugene Collins, brother Clifford Cain and sister Bernice Watson. Survivors include her daughters Mary Jean (Jim) Lanning, of Rutland; Karen (Duane) Thilges, of Fort Dodge; and Ann Marie (Jim) Miller, of Algona; grandchildren Linda (Tom) Hanson, of Humboldt; Joan (Steve) Reedy, of Hardy; Denny (Amy) Thilges and Dan Thilges, of Johnston; Angie (Steve) Eischeid, of Algona; Julie Simonson, of Cedar Falls; Ryan (Lori) Miller, of Algona; Nate Miller, of Titonka; great-grandchildren Justin Hanson, of Des Moines; Joel Hanson, of Humboldt; Lauren, Madison, Abbie and Jake Thilges, of Johnston; Jason Christensen (Alecia Hauck), of Humboldt; Amanda Christensen, of Hardy; Seth and Jordan Eischeid, of Algona; Grant and Josee Simonson, of Cedar Falls; Karley, Meredith and Alex Miller, of Algona; great-great-grandson Alexi Christensen, of Humboldt; and sister-in-law Leta Wittman, of Hobart, Ind.
