None of injuries are life-threatening

A two-vehicle crash sent four people to the hospital Tuesday afternoon.

Farshad Sayadinejad, 57, was driving a Rabiner Treatment Center minivan when he turned left onto 170th Street from U.S. Highway 169. He turned into the path of a Toyota Camry, which was heading south, driven by Kurt R. Peterson, 39, of Provo, Utah, according to Webster County Sheriff's Deputy Rod Strait.

Sayadinejad was charged with failure to yield upon a left-hand turn at the scene.

Fort Dodge firefighters used extraction equipment to get the Camry's door off to remove Peterson.

Peterson and his two children Benjamin Peterson, 5, and Zack Peterson, 9, who were passengers in the Camry, were transported to Trinity Regional Medical Center. The two children were treated and released. Kurt Peterson was being treated at Trinity Regional Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries, Strait said, but had not been released late Tuesday afternoon.

Randy Poutre, director of environmental services at Rabiner, said Sayadinejad was transported by ambulance to Trinity to be checked as a cautionary measure. Sayadinejad is a transporter for Rabiner.

Badger, Barnum and Fort Dodge fire rescue units, the Fort Dodge Police Department and Webster County Sheriff's Department all assisted at the scene.
