ROBERT PAUL DARGE

GRANITE CITY, Ill. - Robert Paul Darge, 71, died Sunday, June 21, 2009 at Gateway Regional Hospital in Granite City, IL. He had resided at Edwardsville Nursing and Rehab Center in Edwardsville, IL

Robert was born March 13, 1938 the son of Howard and Amanda Darge in Wichita, KS. Robert was united in marriage to Joyce (Linn) Olson on June 6, 1987. They made their home in Wichita, KS until 2004 at which time they moved to Collinsville, IL. Robert retired from the Beechcraft Aircraft Corp., where he worked as a Machinist. Following his retirement he worked part-time at Howards Optical in Wichita, KS

Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce who passed away on November 19, 2008. He was also preceded in death by his parents.

Robert is survived by his 5 step-children, Susan M. Olson of Fort Dodge, IA, Theresa L. (Erick) Larson of Collinsville, IL, Jody D. (Karla) Olson of San Diego, CA, Linda D. (Ron) Hamilton of Humboldt, IA, Douglas E. (Gina) Olson of Osceola, IA, 11 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Also surviving are brothers, Ron Darge of W. Des Moines, IA, Glade Darge, Eureka Springs, AR, Glen Darge, Newton, KS and other family members in the Wichita, KS area.

Robert loved going to see the eagles along the Mississippi River during the winter months. He also loved and owned many dogs. He would always smile when he would see a dog.

Graveside services will be Monday, June 29, 2009 at 10AM at the Fort Dodge Memorial Park Cemetery.

Bruce-Graham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
