A semitrailer driver involved in a serious one-vehicle accident Monday is not being identified by authorities.

The driver's name will not be released by officials until the family has been notified, according to Sgt. Jayson Heesch, of the Webster County Sheriff's Department.

The driver of the truck was hauling eggs westbound on Webster County Road C56 around 4:30 p.m. when he crossed the eastbound lane and the truck jackknifed in the ditch near the Thor blacktop. The truck didn't appear to be full and may have been hauling eggs for Sparboe Farms.

The cause of the accident appears to be medically related, Heesch said. He could not say what kind of medical situation was involved.

First responders from Vincent and Badger, and the Webster County Sheriff's Department were on scene shortly after the accident. Rescue workers were attempting resuscitation efforts by the time Trinity Regional Medical Center ambulance arrived.

The man was transferred to Trinity Regional Medical Center by ambulance.

this aint intirely true. no offense to the writer. my dad was a first responder to this and he told me the story. the driver had a heart attack and then swerved to the other side of the road and hit an embackment and slammed down the creek bed. he died almost instantly

Would that be the same as a headline saying Obama's move into a white house east of Fort Dodge. That is a true statement.

My wife came upon this about 2 miles east of Badger. The headline declares "semi wreck east of FD". Shouldn't it read "semi wreck east of Badger?" And they wonder why people refer to our paper as "The Mess"
