FRANK GORDEN

LAKE CITY - Frank Gorden, 74, died Friday, June 12, 2009 at Trinity Regional Hospital in Fort Dodge. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Union Church in Lake City. Rev. Betty Weidert officiating. Burial in the Lake City Cemetery. Visitation from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Lampe Funeral Home, Lake City.

Ellet Franklin Gorden son of Ellet E. and Stella (Detrol) Gorden was born on February 5, 1935. On July 31, 1954 he married Marge Fertig and they continued to farm until they moved to Lake City in 1962. Frank worked for Snyder Implement for more than 25 years before moving to Waynesboro, Virginia until retirement in 2002 when they returned to Lake City.

Survivors include his wife Marge, one son Steve Gorden and his wife Karen of Lake City, two daughters Glenda Gentry and husband Dennis of Lohrville and Sue Stone of Lake City. Seven grandchildren Corey Gentry and wife Angie of Farnhamville, Megan Filmer and husband Derek of Des Moines, Stephanie Burns and husband Eric of Lake City, Nicholas Gorden and wife Ashley of Lake City, Brittanie Gorden, Mackenzie Gorden, Josh Wine and finace Rasima. Two great -granddaughters Makelsie and Tristin Gorden. Two brothers Bill Gorden and wife Scenna of Dow City, Jess Gorden and wife Jeanie of Lake City, two sisters Betty Segebart of Lake City and Annetta Daisy of Lake City. Preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Edward and Charles, son Lyle, grandson Jacob and son-in-law Jim.
