DOUGLAS L. GROSS

Douglas L. Gross, 64, of Fort Dodge, died Sunday, May 31, 2009 at his home.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 5th in the Chapel of Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with Rev. Allen Henderson, Pastor of St Paul Lutheran Church officiating. A military flag presentation will be presented by the VFW Post 1856. Doug's wishes were to be cremated following the service. A private family burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Doug is survived by his wife, Deanna; daughter, Michelle Keeton and her husband Chris of Moorland; son, Eric Gross and his wife Nikki of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren, Holly Keeton and her fiance Seth Erichsen, Amber, Seth, Bryce and Levi Keeton, Theo and Sam Gross; mother-in-law, Patricia Stephenson of Fort Dodge; brother, George Gross of Fort Dodge; sister, Cindy Sockler of Ft Collins, CO. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lyle and Helen (McNeal) Gross.

Douglas L. Gross was born May 28, 1945 in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He was raised and educated in Eagle Grove, graduating from Eagle Grove High School in 1963. He then entered the U.S. Navy, serving during the Vietnam Era until his honorable discharge in 1966. He was united in marriage to Deanna Stephenson on February 7, 1969 and they established their home in Fort Dodge. Doug worked for Americold Corporation for 28 years, retiring in 2007.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
