Racing at Mineral City Speedway did not look promising as the rain began to fall just before the gates opened on Friday night.

With some luck from Mother Nature and a lot of work from the crew, the rain stopped and the track was prepared for racing.

The Hornet class started the night's feature events. Tyler Pickett moved by Cody Wirt and Dustin Haggard to grab the early lead, but by lap three, Duane Ferguson moved into the top spot. Ferguson extended his lead through the remainder of the race going on to take the checkered flag.

Pickett and Wirt rounded out the top three.

Nate Evans and Zach Angstrom started on the front row of the Econo Stock feature. Angstrom moved by Evans for the lead.

Austin Reicks quickly took the second spot over Evans, but tire trouble would take him out of the race. Adam Suhrbier moved into second position.

Angstrom, with a large lead, went on to win his first feature event. Suhrbier was second, with Jason Iehl taking third.

The Hobby Stocks were up next. Justin Nehring moved by Todd Hillman for the lead, but pulled into the work area on lap two.

Hillman took the lead over Kevin Schmauss, Kyle Timmerman and Kevin Berger. This is how they would remain until coming into the final turn of the race.

Hillman got a flat tire, slowing him enough for Schmauss to move past for win number three in as many weeks. Hillman held on to the second spot with Timmerman taking third.

Doug Bartles led the first lap of the 360 Modified feature, but Mike Kallansrud made his move on lap two to take the top spot. Before the end of the lap Bartles had trouble and was out of the race.

Matt Pittman challenged Kallansrud, but was unable to make the move. Two more cautions brought the field together to give Pittman and Chad Louk another chance to pass.

It could not be done, as Kallansrud held on to get his first career feature win. Pittman and Louk finished out the top three.

The Stock Car feature was a close one as always. Matt Fox had a lead over Jeff Zehr, Wayne Crimmins and Mike Van Genderen. They stayed this way until lap six when Fox gave enough room for Zehr to make his move for the lead.

Van Genderen slowed bringing out the caution flag as he left the race. Zehr, Fox and Crimmins were in a tight battle for the lead when Fox spun bringing out the second yellow flag.

Crimmins gave a hard last lap challenge, but Zehr held on to get the win. Crimmins finished second over Jason Minnehan in third.

Ryan Watnem and Jeff Conner started on the front row of the Modified feature, but it was Brad Williams that wanted the lead. By the end of the first lap he had it.

Williams held his lead while Tyler Pemble moved up to challenge Watnem for the second spot. They ran this way for several laps as Williams stretched his lead.

Pemble got by Watnem, but a few laps later pulled off the track. A caution was called for Ryan Ruter who ended up in the wall on the front stretch. Williams kept his lead and went on to get the win, with Mike Albertson and Joe Paullin moving up to finish out the top three.
