Charles "Chuck" R. Fleege, 77, of Fort Dodge, died on Saturday, May 16, 2009, at Trinity Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday May 19th, at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and 11:00 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church with the Rev. Lyn Bruch officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Pocahontas. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday where there will be a Rosary at 4:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Survivors include- wife, Theresa, of Fort Dodge; son Bob Fleege and his wife Barb of Fort Dodge; grandsons, Dan and Dean both of Ames; bother Jon Fleege and his wife Norma of Lincoln, NE; sister, Marsha Porter and her husband Jim of Ft. Collins, CO.
CHARLES “CHUCK” R. FLEEGE
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles R. and Marie (Englert) Fleege; and a brother Robert Fleege.
Charles R. Fleege was born on April 9, 1932 in Pocahontas. He attended schools there and graduated from Pocahontas High School in 1950. He then attended and graduated from Mankato State College with a degree in accounting. On June 16, 1956, Chuck was united in marriage to Theresa C. Poduska. The couple moved to Fort Dodge in August of 1965. He was employed his entire life in the accounting field, and retired from the Labor Department of Iowa in 1994 after 30 years. The couple enjoyed wintering in Mesa, AZ since 1997. Chuck especially loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed golfing, riding his Harley, story telling, happy hour and just enjoyed life.
