Webster County supervisors approve detour, signage
By JESSE HELLING, Messenger staff writerNew signage and a temporary detour were approved by the Webster County Board of Supervisors Tuesday.
Webster County Road D20 between Webster County Road D26 and U.S. Highway 20 will be closed for at least the next five days, said Webster County Engineer Randy Will.
The closure stems from ongoing construction on U.S. Highway 20, which is being widened on a new alignment between Moorland and the Webster-Calhoun County line. A new overpass is being built over D20.
The designated detour route will be a portion of Highway 20 and U.S. Highway 169.
As construction continues, more detours will be necessary over the next 12 months, Will said.
In other road-related action, supervisors approved installation of stop signs at two railway crossings.
Those crossings are on 175th Street and 185th Street in Douglas Township.
Visibility at the crossings was cited as an issue in determining the need for stop signs.
