DWAYNE M. JOSLIN
Dwayne M. Joslin, 49, died early on Tues. Feb. 24, 2009, near Emmetsburg.
Graveside committal services will be held on Sat. Feb. 28 at 3:30 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery near Knierim followed by a funeral service at the church at 4:00 p.m. Officiating at the funeral will be Rev. Chad Dietrich and Rev. Aaron Flatau. Larson-Weishaar Funeral Home in Manson is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife Bette; his daughters Tina (Jeff) Olson of Ft. Dodge; Jennifer (Joslin) Roller of Rockwell City; stepchildren James Larson of Ft. Dodge, Jana (David) Ridler of Colorado Springs, CO, and Jacob (Sarah Anderson) of Manson; granddaughters Danielle and Isabelle Olson; step grandchildren Taylor Anderson and Caden Ridler; parents Les and Arlean Joslin of Barnum; mother-in-law Shirley Warnke of Palmer; brother Kenneth (Mary Jo) Joslin and sisters Joyce Joslin and Denise (Jason) Kahler all of Ft. Dodge as well as several nieces and nephews, and his dog Katie. Dwayne was preceded in death by his son Christopher on Sept. 28, 2001.
Dwayne Melvin Joslin was born on Oct. 27, 1959, at Ft. Dodge, the son of Leslie and Arlean (Born) Joslin. After graduating from Northwest Webster High School in Barnum in 1979, he enlisted in the U.S. Marines Corps, serving from June 27, 1979 until March 14, 1990. During the time of his service, Dwayne served as a Presidential guard for former Presidents Reagan and Carter. On June 14, 1980, he was united in marriage with Kathleen Markley at Deer Creek Church and that marriage ended in a divorce in 2002. He finished his military career in the Military Police and then began working at National Gypsum in Ft. Dodge until 1998 when he started work at Ft. Dodge Correctional Facility. On July 29, 2006, he was united in marriage with Bette Warnke Larson.
