Ramona G. Orvis, 79, of Fort Dodge, passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at the Fort Dodge Villa Care Center.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, December 6th in the chapel of Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Kerns, Pastor of First Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Surviving are her sisters, Erma Collins, Leona Flowers, Charlotte Blankenhagen, Sandra Rykhus, all of Fort Dodge; brothers, Richard Osborne of Fort Dodge, Glen Osborne of Otho, Tom Osborne of Gowrie; sister-in-laws, Patricia Klinger of Fort Dodge, Diana Greenlee of Florida; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Clifford and Laura (Coan) Osborne, her husband Harold; sisters, Edna Wallace, Velma Wright, and Donna Jean, her infant sister; brothers, Robert Osborne, Ronald Osborne, and Clifford Jr., her infant brother.; and many nieces and nephews.
Ramona G. Osborne was born July 12, 1929 in Fort Dodge, Iowa where she attended the local schools until the 9th grade. She was a waitress at Kruckmans, Pops Lunch, and Constantines Restaurants. On October 15, 1948 she was united in marriage to Harold Orvis and they established their home in Fort Dodge.
Ramona was an avid fisherman in her younger years. She sometimes caught more fish than her husband. Her favorites fishing spot was Black Duck, MN. In later years, she enjoyed exercising at the Fitness Factory where she made many friends, even though she sometimes didn't exercise. She just sat and enjoyed everyone's company.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
