Rosie A. Kelley, 91, of Barnum, died Thursday, November 27, 2008 at the Fort Dodge Villa Care Center.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, December 1st at First Assembly Of God Church with Rev. Bob Henkelman officiating. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery, Rockwell City. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home.
Surviving is her son, Jerry of Fort Dodge; daughters, Marcia Hampton of West Des Moines, Jan Kelley of Fort Dodge; grandchildren, Kelly Hampton, Dan (Amy) Hampton, Mike (Wendy) Kelley, Lori Kelley; great-grandchildren, Amber, Nicole, Mackenzie, Mason, Megan, Emma, Lydia; great-great-granddaughter, Morgan; brother, Alvin Harms of Pomeroy; sisters, Hazel Taylor of Rockwell City, Evelyn Sadler of Prescott, AZ, Mildred Fisher of Seattle, WA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Tina (Redenius) Harms; her husband, Glenn; sisters and brother, Marie, Glenn, and Dorothy; son-in-law, Terry Hampton.
Rosie A. Harms was born March 25, 1917 on the family farm near Rockwell City. She attended the rural schools and graduated from Rockwell City High School.
In 1935 she was united in marriage to Glenn Kelley in Omaha, NE and they established their home in Charles City. In 1943 they moved to a farm near Rockwell City, and in 1953 they moved to a farm near Barnum. Following the death of her husband, she continued to make her home on the farm, until June of this year, when she became a resident of the Fort Dodge Villa Care Center.
