Halftime Score: Iowa Central led 38-21.
The Iowa Central men's basketball team came away with an 80-52 victory over the Grand View JV here Friday night, but for Triton head coach Dennis Pilcher, the win was one of the few bright spots.
Pilcher remains concerned about the lack of early progress as Iowa Central (2-2 overall) prepares for regional play.
"I'm glad we got the win, but I'm disappointed in our execution and effort on both sides of the ball," said Pilcher. "At times we played selfish on offense and defense and didn't do any fundamental things correct pretty much the whole night."
Josh Henry proved to be one of the only consistencies on the night, as the freshman poured in 22 points. Henry sank six three-pointers.
"Henry shot the ball well and was one of the few guys getting on the floor for loose balls. He played solid," said Pilcher.
Courtney Walters was a force underneath, as the sophomore center swatted five blocked shots in the first half alone. Walters ended the contest with seven points, six blocked shots, and 13 rebounds.
Justin Heng was the next leading scorer behind Henry with 14 points. Jermel Kennedy added 11 points off the bench.
Starting point guard Hassan Adams chipped in nine points and eight assists as well.
The Tritons return to the court on Tuesday at Marshalltown.
