Kevin L. Headlee, 31, of Fort Dodge, died November 12, 2008, at his home.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. David Grindberg officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
Kevin is survived by his daughter Ashlyn Headlee, Fort Dodge; his former wife Christy; his mother and step-father, Joann and Dana Weisenborn, Oswego, IL; his father Leonard Headlee, Des Moines; his siblings, Scott (Shannon) Headlee, Mt. Vernon, IL; Melissa (Mark) Surgeon, Oswego, IL; and Sarah (Josh) Engelke, Montgomery, IL; his nieces and nephews, Seth, Shelby and Spencer Headlee, Marissa and Malaya Surgeon, and Porcelyn and J.J. Engelke; his grandparents, Lois and Clifford Weisenborn, Sac City; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Kevin was preceded in death by his grandparents, Henry and Delores Wendland, Lyle and Lucille Headlee, his uncle Francis 'Popeye' Belknap and his aunt Judy Wendland.
Kevin Lyle Headlee was born December 2, 1976, in Lake City, Iowa. He attended schools at Sac City and Fort Dodge and also attended Iowa Central. Kevin was employed with Americold. On February 22, 2002, Kevin was united in marriage to Christy Thorson at Las Vegas.
Kevin enjoyed playing in pool and dart leagues and was interested in computers. Most importantly, he loved taking his daughter Ashlyn to the park and spending time with her.
