Southern Cal 37, Rockwell City-Lytton 0

ROCKWELL CITY - Third-ranked (Class A) Southern Cal blanked Rockwell City-Lytton 37-0 here Friday.

Kelan Richardson paced the Mustangs (6-1 overall, 4-0 district) offensively with 112 yards and two touchdowns on 12 carries.

Eric Vogel chipped in 65 yards and a score on the ground.

Quarterback Greg Meyer connected with Aaron Hildreth on a 44-yard touchdown strike. Hildreth also ran for a 30-yard score.

Defensively, Southern Cal held the Wildcats (5-2, 2-2) to only 131 yards of total offense and blocked three punts.

Chase Willett spearheaded the Mustang defense with an interception and fumble recovery for a touchdown.

Matt Schleisman and Mark Blessington each contributed 10 tackles for Southern Cal.

Laurens-Marathon 52, Twin River Valley 16

LAURENS - The Laurens-Marathon football team rolled past Twin River Valley 52-16 here Friday.

The No. 6 (8-man) Chargers (7-0 overall, 5-0 district) racked up 357 yards of total offense, while limiting the Thunder (2-5, 2-3) to just 231.

Quarterback Zach Lovin completed 11 of 17 passes for 145 yards and four scores. Lovin also rushed for a touchdown and hauled in a 36-yard scoring reception.

Adam Woodin was L-M's top receiver with seven catches for 101 yards and three touchdowns.

Caleb Jamison added three receptions for 44 yards and a score.

Tyler Smith paced the Charger ground attack with 54 yards and a touchdown on nine carries. Smith also collected 8.5 tackles to anchor the L-M defense.

Bishop Garrigan 42, North Iowa 6

ALGONA - Bishop Garrigan scored six rushing touchdowns and racked up 468 yards of total offense in their 42-6 rout of North Iowa here Friday night.

Jack Bradley and Brett Capesius had two scores apiece. Capesius carried the ball eight times for 134 yards.

He found the end zone on a 21-yard run and a 65-yard run.

Bradley muscled his way to the end zone on runs of two and seven yards.

Ethan Gisch (18-yard run) and Kevin Elbert (25-yard run) also added touchdowns for the Golden Bears (5-2, 3-1).

Elbert led the defense by intercepting two Bison (1-6, 1-4) passes.

Kory Wieland led the Bears with nine tackles.

Pocahontas Area/Pomeroy-Palmer 35, East Sac County 0

POCAHONTAS - The Pocahontas Area/Pomeroy-Palmer football team recorded a 35-0 victory over East Sac County here Friday.

The Indians (3-4 overall, 3-2 district) rushed for 303 yards in the contest.

Jonathon Rittgers sparked PA/P-P offensively with 37 carries for 221 yards and four touchdowns.

Calvin Pederson and Weston Williams both collected nine tackles and an interception for the Indians, while Kendall Sommerlot chipped in six stops and a fumble recovery.

Quarterback Drew McDonough completed 13 of 27 passes for 140 yards to lead the Raiders (3-4, 2-3).

Prairie Valley 48, Ogden 13

OGDEN - The Prairie Valley football team kept their undefeated district trek alive here Friday night as they ousted Ogden 48-13.

The Warriors (6-1, 5-0) jumped on the back of Jon Elmore as he rushed the ball 33 times for 273 and four touchdowns.

Cole Jaeschke got it done through the air for the Warriors as the signal caller went 10-18 for 122 yards and two touchdowns.

Both scoring strikes were to Brandon Milham.

Also adding a rushing touchdown for the Warriors was Patrick McLeod.

McLeod and Justin Brinkman got it done defensively as they both recorded 11 tackles.

Webster City 33, Charles City 12

CHARLES CITY - The Webster City football team defeated Charles City 33-12.

The Lynx (5-2 overall, 4-1 in district) used three touchdowns from John Hill to top the Comets (5-2, 3-2).

Hill scored on runs of two, one and one.

Brent Nelson had the big score of the night on a 66-yard jaunt.

Kevin Kannuan had a 17-yard touchdown run for the Lynx as well.

Charles City's Bastine Metzdorf had a 42 and 45 yard field goal. Justin DeBower returned a fumble 86 yards for a score.

Algona 26, Hampton-Dumont 13

ALGONA - The Algona football team used the big play to down Hampton-Dumont here Friday night 26-13.

Three of the four Bulldog touchdowns came from over 50 yards and the other was from eleven yards out.

John Gifford was the main offensive catalyst once again for the Bulldogs (5-2, 3-2) as he had a hand in all four touchdowns with three through the air and one on the ground.

He ended the night passing 5-6 for 163 yards and rushed 17 times for 71 yards and a touchdown jaunt from 54 yards out.

Grant Person had two catches for 140 yards-both for touchdowns-and scored the game clinching touchdown on a 65 yard touchdown pass late in the fourth quarter.

Adding the other Bulldog score was Landon Ludwig on an 11-yard touchdown reception.

Manson Northwest Webster 29, Audubon 13

MANSON - The Manson Northwest Webster football team notched a 29-13 victory over Audubon.

Nick Myers powered the Cougars (3-4 overall, 3-2 district) offensively with 24 carries for 249 yards and a touchdown.

Quarterback Kyle Twait finished 10-for-20 through the air for 203 yards and a pair of scores. Zach Steinhoff was his go-to receiver with six receptions for 151 yards and two touchdowns.

Eagle Grove 41, Clarion-Goldfield 15

CLARION - The Eagle Grove football team downed Clarion-Goldfield 41-15 here Friday.

The Eagles (3-4 overall, 2-2 district) chalked up 369 yards of total offense, while limiting the Cowboys (3-4, 3-2) to just 244.

Blake McCart led EG offensively with 96 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 12 attempts.

Eric Kist also tallied 87 yards and a score on eight carries for the Eagles, who rushed for 300 yards and six touchdowns.

Alex Helmick paced the EG defense with 15 tackles. Teammate Logan Willard added 11 stops.

Graettinger-Terril 55, West Bend-Mallard 14

WEST BEND - The West Bend-Mallard football team dropped a 55-14 decision to Graettinger-Terril on Friday night.

Darin Banwart led the Wolverines (2-5 overall, 1-4 eight-man, district 2) offensive attack with 222 passing yards. Banwart was 13-for-23.

Banwart hooked up with Matt Ruppert for a 37-yard touchdown and ran in a one-yard score.

Travis Goeders was the leading receiver, catching five balls for 153 yards.
