MARSHALLTOWN - The Fort Dodge boys and girls cross country teams competed at the Marshalltown Invitational on Thursday night.

The Dodger girls finished 12th, while the boys were 14th.

Valley (55) edged out Marshalltown (59) to win the boys team title.

Jacob Trunnell broke the Top-25, finishing 21st for the Dodgers (17:42).

''This was definitely an eye opener for everyone (on the boys side),'' said FDSH head coach Tim Hanson. ''There's a good possibility that a couple of teams from this meet will be at the district meet and our top guy was 21st, so there's definitely some work that needs to be done.''

On the girls side, Dowling (24) was the team champion, followed by Urbandale (83). The Maroons were nine places from a perfect score.
