Lutheran Family Service, in conjunction with St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge, is offering a support group for families experiencing pain and trauma.

Each Thursday evening, beginning Sept. 4 and lasting until just before Thanksgiving, two separate groups will meet at St. Paul's, with each group facilitated by an LFS counselor.

A "Life After Divorce" group for recently divorced adults is structured around a video presentation, followed by group discussion. This group will be facilitated by Rev. Eric L. Schillo, a pastoral counselor who has been working in Fort Dodge with individuals and families for more than 20 years. The group is open to any adult who is struggling with unresolved issues from a dissolved marriage relationship.

Topics addressed in this group will be divided into six units to include facing divorce, grief and loss, forgiveness, starting over, new relationships, and children and divorce.

"Life After Loss" will be facilitated by counselor Toni Larson and is intended for any person who has experienced the loss of a loved one through death. Larson has facilitated many such support groups through Hospice in the past several years.

To get more information about the ''Life After'' groups are encouraged to call 573-3138 or e-mail for more information and for registration material. There will not be a charge, but a free-will offering will be accepted.
