TIMOTHY E. FREDIN

GILMORE CITY — Timothy E. Fredin, 56, of Gilmore City passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at the Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the First Lutheran Church in Gilmore City with the Rev. Ray Block officiating. Interment will be in Marble Valley Cemetery at Gilmore City. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday evening at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt.

Tim is survived by his wife, Sandy Fredin; sons, Chad (Michele) of Lehigh, Ryan (Judy) of Livermore; daughter, Mandy (Todd) Oleson of Fort Dodge; four grandchildren and two step-grandchildren; parents, Ell (Gladyce) Fredin of Gilmore City; brothers, Tom (Diane) Fredin of Dayton, OH, Tary Fredin of Gilmore City; sister, Tonya (Larry) Bern of Amana; brother-in-law, Jim (Rhonda) Ripperger; sister-in-law, Sally Schriber. Tim is also survived by many aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, and many special friends. He is preceded in death by both his grandparents; and in-laws, Elroy (Marcella) Ripperger.

Timothy E. Fredin was born May 15, 1952 at Mary Greely Hospital in Ames. He attended grade school K-5 in Truesdale and graduated in 1970 from Gilmore City-Bradgate. He was married to Sandy Ripperger in 1973. He furthered his education by receiving his bachelor degree in business from Buena Vista University in 1977.

Tim served as Mayor of Gilmore City for several years, was a member of Gilmore City-Bradgate School Board, as a member of the First Lutheran Church, he was elected to the Church Council and as Sunday School Superintendent. In addition, he spent many years as the announcer at home football games. He worked in sales for the Chantland Company for over twenty years and also had a part-time job at the Hy-Vee Deli.

Tim thought dearly of his grandchildren and step-grandchildren. He will always be remembered for his quick wit and always put his family and friends first.
