NEWS: For area nursing home residents, the fourth annual Senior Olympics hosted by the Fort Dodge Villa Care Center wasn’t about competition. It allowed residents to socialize and get out of the care centers for awhile.
SPORTS: St. Edmond and Fort Dodge each carried hopes for strong individual performances in the girls state track meet. Fort Dodge qualified four events and St. Edmond qualified six events.
May 21, 1983
NEWS: Richard Zolnosky of Zolnosky’s Jewelers, Webster City, returned from Antwerp, Belgium, where he received a diamond award in recognition of his diamond expertise from the Diamond High Council.
SPORTS: St. Edmond won a team championship and both the Gaels and Fort Dodge Dodgers advanced in a girls sectional tennis tournament held here.

NEWS: Highlight of the annual parent-son banquet of the Fort Dodge FFA chapter was the presentation of several outstanding awards. Matt Meeker received the highest chapter honor, the chapter’s star farmer award.
SPORTS: Fort Dodge Junior College closed its 1958 baseball season with a 10-6 win over Webster City Junior College at Dodger Stadium.
