RICHARD KLINGER

Richard J. Klinger, 58, of Fort Dodge, died January 5, 2008 at Trinity Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 9, at Gunderson Funeral Chapel with Pastor John Elkin officiating. Full military honors will be presented by the VFW Post No. 1856. Cremation will follow the services. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.

Richard James Klinger was born on June 17, 1949. He attended high school in Lehigh and later joined the Army and served as a cook in Germany. After his honorable discharge, he returned to Fort Dodge and worked for Fort Dodge Roofing and various construction companies. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.

Survivors include his children Angela (Robert) Camden of Pomeroy, Tina (Christopher) Rollins of Webster City, Rick Klinger, Dennis Rees, William Rees and Samantha Klinger, all of Fort Dodge; ten grandchildren; his siblings Robert (Mary) Klinger of Eatonton, GA, Donna (William) Ewing of Barnes City, Linda (Jerry) Fawcett of New Sharon, Ronald Klinger of Flippin, AR, Randy Klinger of Somers, and Kristie (Larry) Janeway of Marionette, GA; many cousins, nieces and nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his son Richard M. Klinger, his parents Donald and Lydia (Hurtt) Klinger, and his sister Carol Gordon.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
