Anderson double-double leds Pocahontas Area



POCAHONTAS — The Pocahontas Area boys basketball team routed Southern Cal 78-40 Tuesday night.

Pocahontas Area was led by Derek Anderson who had a double-double. Anderson tallied 19 points and 16 rebounds.

Cody Harrison had 12 and Ryan Baade added 11 as well as four assist and five steals.

Southern Cal was led by Mark Blessington who contributed eight and Matthew Schleisman who had six.

Eagles soar past Algona



EAGLE GROVE — The Eagle Grove boys basketball squad took care of Algona 62-48 Tuesday night.

The Eagles led the entire contest.

Jon Morris paced the Eagles (5-1 overall, 4-0 in the North Central Conference) with 16 points while Jordan Voss added 12 and Alex Grandgeorge tallied 11.

For the Bulldogs, Ryan Brandt led the scoring with 16 points and John Gifford had 11.

Thunder strikes WCLT



BODE — The Twin River Valley boys basketball squad took care of WCLT 62-32.

Levi Trauger paced Twin River Valley (2-2 overall) with 16 points and Brian Olson tallied 14.

The Tigers were led in scoring by Scott Phelps who contributed eight.

CLARION — The Humboldt boys placed three players in double figures as they defeated Clarion-Goldfield 50-38 on Tuesday night.

Joe Bohan led the way for the Wildcats (3-2 overall, 3-1 in North Central Conference) with 20 points. Matt Berte had 11 and Nick Nielsen added 10.

Nate Huntley paced the Cowboys with 16 points (0-5, 0-5) and Derek Toomsen added 12.

Pomeroy-Palmer takes care of Aurelia



POMEROY — The Pomeroy-Palmer boys basketball squad came out victorious Tuesday against Aurelia 62-50.

Chet Freimuth paced the Knights with 22 points while Dustin Movall added 18.

The Bulldogs were led in scoring by Greg Kolpin and Aaron Bruce who each contributed 15.

earns first win



CORWITH — The Corwith-CWL boys picked up their first win of the season, knocking off West Bend-Mallard 76-45 on Tuesday night.

Tanner Holmes led the Panthers (1-5 overall, 1-5 in conference) with 15 points. Tyler Fisher had 12. Tommy McGregor, Joe Studer and Brandon Sohl had 10 points each.

Darrin Banwart led West Bend-Mallard with 18 points.
